Raúl is a software and computer engineer based in Spain, with over 20 years of experience in the software industry.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, supplemented by a Master’s degree in Computer Technologies and Advanced Electronic Data Transmission Systems.
Since joining the Computer Science Faculty at the University of Murcia as a full-time staff member in 1999, Raúl’s primary involvement has been in Unix/Linux administration environments, Cloud/Network technologies, and Data Engineering.
He likes blending his administrative roles with programming tasks, Raúl has enriched his education through comprehensive training provided by prestigious IT companies. His key areas of interest encompass Free Software, Deep Learning, Networks and Programming, all of which he has conducted extensive research and delivered numerous lectures on.
In 2020, Raúl became part of the Daedalus Lab team, where he has since worked on a variety of projects. These have ranged from the creation of new corpus using technologies such as Python, Spacy, and CQPweb, to developing software for video alignment and transcription, and utilizing pose estimation models to generate multimodal data frames from videos.
